Billy Beane (Brad Pitt), the head of the Oakland A baseball team, challenges rich clubs by creating a team out of nothing with a limited budget. However, in doing so, he shakes the fundamental beliefs of the baseball sport. Despite his methods being unpopular and even considered madness, Beane continues to progress in the direction he knows, without losing his faith and determination.
Based on Michael Lewis's book "Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game," the film stars Brad Pitt, Robin Wright, and Jonah Hill. It is adapted by Steven Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin.
Moneyball is the second feature film of Bennett Miller, who was nominated for Best Director at the Oscars in the same year for his debut film "Capote" in 2005. The film has received high praise and ratings from international critics so far, with its world premiere taking place at the Toronto Film Festival.
